sometimes i remember my misadventures as a preteen on warrior cats roleplay games and miss those days lol. i also wonder how i got away with some of the things i did.
i have a distinct memory of playing as an apprentice who was supposed to be a reincarnation of hawkfrost. somehow i got a couple of other people roped in and we ended up with a bramblepaw and a mothpaw as well.
my most clear memory from that roleplay is that bramblepaw ended up dying horribly somehow. i do not remember how, i just remember that it happened lol.
i know that roleplaying as canons even as a 'reincarnation' was totally against the rules, but i think i did similar things a bunch of times and never got in trouble for it HSNDJDHF
#color rambles | personal#warrior cats#there was also a period of time when i was between 11-13 where i was roleplaying android 18 from dragon ball z as a warrior cat HSHDJHG#i think i was more stealthy with that one though#thinking about this 'cause i'm currently on warrior cats ultimate edition not for rp purposes but for The Hunt(tm)#( a roblox event )

HEAD OF FALSE SECURITY MASTERLIST
Connor’s sitting in his unofficially designated chair in the corner of the android autopsy room, and you’re puttering about, stealing glances at him out of the corner of your eye.
Again, the loud and prideful creature in you is baying and yowling like a dog near death. It’s telling you to kick him out – that his kind-of-aggression and kind-of-manipulation is completely unforgivable. It curses at you for your faults, for being weak for him when he feels absolutely nothing for you.
But you swallow it. You stomp it down and tell it to be quiet for now.
You pat the autopsy table. It’s surprisingly loud, and startles you a little. “Khm… if you’d like to get started on the memory transfer, you can get up on the table.”
Connor stands and moves over to the autopsy table. He sits on it and leans forward, his elbows on his knees.
You pull a couple of cables from a drawer in your desk and plug them into the side of one of your computers. When you turn to Connor, you hold up the other ends of them. “I need to plug these into your ports.”
Connor turns his head to the side and presses behind his ear. The plastic of his skin slides back, revealing two small ports.
“Jacking in. Don’t move.” You grab Connor’s jaw to steady him, then jack in the ports one at a time.
You pull away and turn to your monitor before you fully register what you just did. You’re so used to doing it out of instinct that you didn’t realize you were holding his face. You feel the tips of your ears start to burn, but clear your throat and try to shake it off.
“I’m going to sift through your memory banks,” you say without turning to look at him. “Have you had this… well, I usually call it an operation, but it’s not really one. Have you had a query run on your memory before?”
“Not by an external source,” Connor says. “But I do recall the events that happened throughout the day and process them while in standby or rest mode.”
“So you call queries on yourself?” You say. “Huh. Never heard of androids doing that before. But I guess you are a prototype.”
You put your head down and start to type. “Give me temporary access to your systems?”
A pop-up appears on your monitor:
> Android “Connor” (model RK800) giving admin access to Memory Banks. Accept access? Y/N
You click accept and multiple windows appear on your screen. You sort through them and find what you’re looking for. You quickly type:
RK800.memory-banks(location.search);
//=> ‘?Jericho’ {date=11-08-2038}
A short clip comes up after a few seconds of load time. It starts with a first-person shot of Connor looking at you (god, did you really look that worried?), then takes off and charges the deviant. He connects with the other android, and then you see it: Jericho, painted on a piece of rusty metal, just like how Connor described. Then, Connor is ripped from his connection. The video ends.
“That looks like a…” you mutter to yourself. You don’t finish the sentence.
“Looks like a what?” Connor pipes up from behind you.
You rewind the footage from Connor’s memory banks and look at it again. “I was going to say it looks like a boat, but…”
“It’s highly unlikely that the deviants are residing on a boat,” Connor says. “There aren’t many abandoned boats along the Detroit River, and certainly not one big enough to house most of the deviant androids.”
“Yeah, that’s what I thought, too,” you say. “It’s not like there’s just a freighter floating around for them to take.”
You put your head down again and put in the commands to copy the video to your desktop. After a few seconds, it’s done.
“Okay.” You pull away from the keyboard and turn to Connor. “I’m done.”
“Actually, Officer?” Connor asks.
Your eyebrows furrow. “Yes?”
He glances away, then back to you. “Do you have the equipment required to run a diagnostic on an android?”
“Uh…” You let out an exhale of air with something between confusion and disbelief. “Yeah? Yeah, I do. Why?”
“Can you run a diagnostic on me?” Connor asks.
“Wh…” Your face twists in confusion. “Why would you want that? I thought you had the operating power to run diagnostics on yourself.”
“I do,” Connor says, and it’s almost like there’s a hint of defensiveness in his tone. “But… I’d just like a second opinion.”
You nod, slowly. “Okay. I’ll… I’ll get that up and running.”
You turn back to the computer and close the running programs to make space for the ones you open. When you’re done, you move over to Connor and remove the cables after warning him. You almost cradle his head as you press your left palm to the port behind his ear, your thumb on his cheek. (The proud creature inside you whines and barks and kicks your liver at that.)
The wires from your glove quickly replace the cables that were just there a moment ago. Connor’s eye twitches once.
You look over your shoulder at the computer. It’s already automatically running the diagnostic you queued up – way too slow for your liking, might you add.
“Do you have any more books on Russian literature?” Connor asks out of the blue.
You turn back to him. “Yeah. Russians of the past loved to philosophize and think. There wasn’t much else to do when most of the year was spent below freezing for most people. Why do you ask?”
“I was just curious,” Connor says. “I want to know more about you.”
You do your best to hide the bitterness that boils up in your belly. You honestly can’t tell if this is Connor trying to make conversation or another one of his little manipulative tactics. You can do nothing but operate on blind faith.
Connor glances at you out of the corner of his eye, then looks forward. “What is Russian literature about?”
You hem and haw and collect your thoughts before speaking. “It has sobornost, metaphysics, religiosity, intuitionism, positivism, realism… but I like the ones that are more universal. The ones that can apply to everyone.”
“What do you mean?” He says.
“The books about the fear of failure, and the fear of death. How it sucks to be Russian.” You shrug with one arm, trying not to jostle Connor too much. “I mean, all national literatures are – only the name of the nation changes.”
“Hm,” Connor hums and looks down. Looks like you’ve given him something to think about for the time being.
You look over your shoulder, and the computer screen shows that the diagnostic is nearly done. When it finally finishes, you disengage the wires, the palm of your hand and fingers cool where it touched Connor’s skin.
You step back and turn to the computer, looking over the diagnostic report. Everything seems normal, and the ALL SYSTEMS NOMINAL! message at the bottom of the page confirms that.
“Yeah, you’re fine,” you say. “Not a hair out of place.”
You turn and lean back against the desk. Connor is looking down at the ground. He stays like that for a second, then looks up at you.
“Do you have books on the history of the USSR?” He asks. You internally note his (maybe unintentional) dismissal of the diagnostic report.
“Yeah.” You open a drawer and pull out the first book you see, then hold it up for Connor. It’s a book that was published in the late 1900’s, named The Reversal of Archduke Franz Ferdinand: How the Death of Agent Ekaterina Nechayeva Prevented the Collapse of the USSR.
“This one is about the Kollektiv 2.0 Disaster and how the death of Major Sergey Nechayev’s wife inadvertently prevented things from…” You think for a moment. “Well, not from going wrong, but from things getting worse.”
You look down at the book. “It’s the same butterfly effect Archduke Franz Ferdinand created, but in reverse. She saved lives by dying instead of ending them.”
“That’s interesting,” Connor says.
“Somewhat.” You put the book back and shut the drawer, then look back up at Connor. “Kind of like… you. You could’ve died killing that deviant in Stratford Tower – the station android. But you risked that to save human lives.” You narrow your eyes at him. “Why?”
Connor looks at you with those big doe eyes. He blinks and tilts his head to the side. “If the deviant succeeded in its mission of a mass shooting, it would’ve most likely killed Lieutenant Anderson, too. Like I said a few days ago, I need both the Officer and the Lieutenant for maximum efficiency when solving this case.”
“So you put your secondary mission above your first,” you say. “Because hunting deviants is your top objective, yes? So you put the safety of Hank above your primary mission.”
“I…” Connor’s LED turns yellow, then returns to blue. “Yes, I did. Because Lieutenant Anderson’s safety was compromised at that moment.”
You hum and lean back, crossing your arms. You didn’t exactly love putting him in situations like this – ones where he was forced to reflect inwardly, guided by your hand. How you both somehow rounded back to these conversations and topics was almost like a base instinct, spurred on by your primal reptilian hindbrain and his innermost motherboards.
“Why do you keep doubting my non-deviancy status?” Connor finally asks.
“I…” You exhale sharply. “I’m just not used to being around androids that are so expressive. I know it’s part of your… social relations program or your interrogation software, but still. Maybe I’m just a fool.”
You tap the front of the drawer you just shut. “Not a fool regarding books or cybernetics or polymer, but a fool regarding relationships.”
Connor looks at you weirdly. “Officer, we’re not… in a relationship.”
“Not like that!” You feel your face grow warm. “We’re two people that have met each other. By definition, we have a relationship.”
“Oh,” he says. “Well, what do you think of our relationship?”
“I mean…” You look up at the ceiling, your eyes tracing the outlines of the tiles. “I’ve always had trouble putting people into boxes. My mind seems to blur the lines between stranger, acquaintance, and friend. So most people, even friends, just default to some weird in-between.”
Your eyes return to Connor. “Are we… friends? Because I don’t know if we are. I don’t mean that in a bad way, I just… truly don’t know.”
Connor tilts his head to the side. It kind of reminds you of a puppy looking at something it doesn’t understand. “I believe so.”
You allow yourself to feel just a spark of hope, but you’re careful to not let it ignite into a Californian wildfire. You bite the inside of your lip to keep from smiling too widely. “It would be nice to be friends. But… you have to promise me something.”
“Yes?” He says.
You steel your expression. “You admitted to basically manipulating me to get into my good graces. Please, don’t do that again. I don’t want you to be fake around me. I…” You swallow thickly. The creature of pride in your belly is baying and scratching at the walls of your stomach. “I don’t want the Connor who kisses ass at every opportunity, or the one who worships the dirt I piss on. I want the real Connor. Even if… even if the real Connor is just a machine.”
Connor just stares at you, almost unblinking. His LED is circling in on itself in a steady yellow. You feel your face start to burn hot with shame and you’re just about ready to fall through the ground. Your eyes fall to the floor.
“Uh, never mind, forget I said –”
“No,” Connor cuts you off. “You’re right. I shouldn’t have done that. I’ll try my best not to… ‘kiss ass’ in the future.”
You feel a laugh bubble up in your throat and you can’t even stop it before it spills from your lips. It’s so sudden that you have to bring a hand to your mouth to try to silence yourself.
Connor looks at you inquisitively. “Why are you laughing?”
“You…” You giggle, then clear your throat. “That’s the first time I’ve heard you curse. It sounds weird coming from you. Like it’s foreign.”
“I’ve always been able to curse,” Connor says. “I just don’t feel the need to.”
“I know,” you say. “It’s just… odd, is all. I’m not used to it. Like when someone tells you the sky is blue. You have to pause for a moment, then you think, ‘Oh, of course. That’s obvious.’ Not because you didn’t know that the sky is blue, but because you’re not used to people stating the obvious like that.”
“Huh.” Connor looks down at the floor. “You talk a lot. It’s useful for my machine learning algorithms.”
You perk up a little at that. To hear Connor say that he likes when you talk, even in a completely roundabout way, is… weirdly comforting. (You can faintly feel the dry grass around the spark of hope catching fire in your chest. The proud beast stomps out the growing flames and keeps it in check to make sure it stays just that – a small, flickering spark.)
“Well, khm…” you look away and scratch your cheek. “Thank you.”
Connor nods, but doesn’t speak.
You glance at the clock on one of your many monitors. It’s nearing seven in the evening. “I should probably get going. It’s getting late.”
“It is,” Connor says.
You quickly save everything on your computer and shut off the monitors. You grab your coat from the back of your chair by your desk and shrug it on.
“I’ll see you tomorrow?” You say.
“Yes.” Connor’s eyes twitch and his LED flashes yellow for a moment. “Lieutenant Anderson has just alerted me that his request for a meeting with Elijah Kamski has been accepted. It’s set for 11:20 AM tomorrow.”
You nod. “And I’m assuming Hank will swing by to pick me up.”
“Yes,” Connor says. “I’ll see you tomorrow, Officer. Have a good night.”
You smile at him, a lightness in your chest. “You too.”

Seonghwa the Investigator
Next up for analysis is the oldest member of Ateez, our beautiful Seonghwa. Click here for the masterlist!
Before Fever
Seonghwa's life prior to the main story is somewhat unknown. What is known about Seonghwa's life is that he wasn't happy with whatever he was doing. The Fever Diary Film depicts him in some sort of office, possibly a job he feels stuck in. Regardless, the imagery in the film clearly implies to us that Seonghwa has been blindly following the path of life which has been laid out before him. The event which propels Seonghwa to break away from this path is his encounter with a young woman dancing outside of a drug store or a gas station or something of that extent (a friend of mine likes to call her 7-11 girl). Seonghwa doesn't speak to her but, after she leaves, finds a bracelet which she drops that reads "Be Free". He then vows to be free of his life, dance like her, and find her again. This will prove to be difficult as he does not know her name and she never comes to that spot again.
In the Diaries (Fever & Beyond)
More or less as soon as the story begins, Seonghwa wants out. After the Grimes siblings take the time to explain the history of World Z and the hard work of the Black Pirates' resistance, he says that none of that matters to him at the moment, the only thing that matters is that they retrieve the Cromer from the Android Guardians and get home. I think this is actually the most realistic response from Ateez to learning all this information. Why would any of the history of this place be their responsibility to fix? They got there seemingly by mistake and are young and inexperienced. Why would they believe themselves capable of doing anything about such a prominent issue?
Seonghwa's directness allows him to direct the group's mission towards finding Left Eye in the dump in order to get to the Android Guardian base. When they eventually do get to the Guardian base, Seonghwa is the first to notice and investigate Yeosang's disappearance, who turns out to be okay and gives them the Cromer which he found. Unfortunately, when they're celebrating, Yeosang is grabbed by the Guardians and they're forced to attempt to hand over the Cromer. This is, of course, when Yeosang smashes the Cromer and gets trapped in World Z.
Upon returning to World A for the first time, Seonghwa expresses determination to find and save Yeosang. After Hongjoong suggests his idea to find another Cromer in World A, some of the members push back, talking about the legality of his plan. Seonghwa expresses anger and frustration at this, saying this rigidity to rules reminds him of his old self.
"If it were me in the past, who had a rigid mindset and was scared to break the rules, I would have reacted the same way as the other members ... Maybe this made me even angrier. But now, I'm not the person who I used to be. Saving Yeosang is my top priority." -Fever Epilogue
When they get back to World Z, it is Seonghwa who is the first to enter the room where Yeosang is kept and he is the one to release him. From that point on, Yeosang and Seonghwa stick together frequently in the story. One of the key times when they are paired up is for their infiltration of Prestige Academy. Both of the work together to help the older brother who is struggling to hide his emotions in school and struggling to handle his emotions in general. Yeosang is the one who delivers the speech to help the brother realize that hard emotions are a healthy part of life, but it is Seonghwa who provides the kind smile which convinces the brother it is safe to follow them in the first place. He is described as being protective of the brother, walking behind him and ensuring the door is locked.
Unfortunately, Seonghwa's focus is broken when the leader of the organization at Prestige known as Thunder comes in the room. He's immediately struck by some sort of shocking realization and he struggles to contain his emotions, drawing her attention to him. Seonghwa even goes so far as to grab her wrist and demand why she is there. After this happens, Seonghwa seems a small shift in her face and believes that she is feeling emotions. He watches her carefully to try to catch it again, using the Be Free bracelet to calm himself down.
This girl is, of course, the same girl from World A and Seonghwa had recognized her immediately. He understands that she is not the exact same as the World A girl but is rather the World Z version of her but it is still hard for him to process that this girl in any world would be on the side of evil. This is pretty world shattering. After all this time, hunting for someone who inspired him to break free of the rules of life, he finally found her in a role of rigidity and enforcing of some of the most freedom dampening rules he could have possibly imagined.
"He didn't know whether to be happy or sad. However, just as she had changed his life and set him free that one day, Seonghwa was determined to save her from this world." - The World Ep. 2 Outlaw
As the story moves forward, Seonghwa continues to be observant of everyone around him. When the boy's brother is about to jump from the top floor window, Seonghwa quickly covers the boy's eyes to shield him from such a horrible pain. When the members execute their primary plan to save people at the Prestige Academy that same day, it is Seonghwa who first realizes the boy is getting taken away in the smoke by an Android Guardian and goes in after him. At that moment, however, he gets grabbed by the Thunder girl and is described as willingly following her before he disappears with the boy and the Thunder girl into the smoke.
Seonghwa's decision to follow the girl and investigate whatever is going on with her is scrutinized many times by the other members. First, when they return to the bunker without him, Yeosang in particular is incredibly frustrated with Seonghwa and saw him go in willingly, believing him to now be a traitor. However, Seonghwa returns shortly with a map and it is proven to have been a good choice to trust the girl as she helped them significantly.
The second time it is scrutinized however is a much tougher one. Their bunker is broken into during a crucial time and Guardians kill many resistance members. Wooyoung is quick to blame Seonghwa, assuming she is the leak. Seonghwa is devastated, wondering if he made a mistake. With the four members in the bunker being shocked by the break in, they're not prepared to properly fight back and they get beat up super bad. I can imagine this would be tough for Seonghwa to reckon with.
After all is said and done, the Thunder girl proves to be trustworthy and she ends up taking Seonghwa for a walk. She explains her whole life story and how she decided to try to help save the world. I feel like this conversation is really important for Seonghwa's development as it sort of serves as a way to reinvigorate his faith in people, she becomes an inspiration for him once again. The Thunder girl is pretty attached to Seonghwa as well and so when she fails to shoot Z when the chance is presented to her, she ends up doing so successfully only when Z clutches on to Seonghwa in an attempt to escape. It is her love and care for Seonghwa which provides the right amount of rage for her to carry it out.
Back in World A, Seonghwa is plagued with flashbacks to all the deaths he witnessed. Even though he can now confidently say he wasn't the one who caused the information to be leaked, those deaths still way heavy on him (reasonably so!!). He constantly harkens back to the Thunder girl's memory to decide what he should do and ends up deciding that what she would want him to do would be to try and save people in World A. Thus, he becomes a firefighter.
"Saving oneself is the first step in saving other people. Believe it or not, that's why I decided to become a firefighter. I thought that if I could just pull myself out of my own misery, I would be able to do anything." - Golden Hour Pt. 2
Seonghwa's arc, for now, has ended with him as a firefighter. The closest thing he's gotten to his original dreams was being a model for the firefighter's yearly calendar. At least he's saving people now though, he even saves Jongho from a fire once, the dancing girl always in the back of his mind.
Seonghwa's Primary Symbols:
-Be Free bracelet (ie Fever Diary Film, Halazia)
-Light (ie Wonderland, Halazia Epilogue, arguably the chandelier in Ice on My Teeth)
Seonghwa's Primary Character Traits:
-observant
-independent
-honest
-brave
Closing Thoughts
Seonghwa manages to be simultaneously one of the most selfless members while also managing to consistently break out from the group out of his own ideas without really caring what the other members want from him. I think it's this constant juggling of his desire to be free of all rules and instruction and his desire to care for his members (Yeosang in particular) that provides the complexity for his character. Regardless of anything else, Seonghwa had an ongoing search and he stuck to it, all the way to the end. I hope that his firefighting job won't cause him more trauma later down the line.
Please send in any questions and please look forward to the next deep dive tomorrow! I'll be releasing them at the same time each day for the next week :) I hope this was interesting!

20 Questions with a Fanfic Author
Thanks for the tag @lavender-tea-fling :D I’m always surprised when someone tags me in these things - keep ‘em comin’!
*cracks knuckles* … *no, not really, because OW*
1. How many works on AO3?
I TOO HAVE 48 WORKS ON AO3! Find them all at this handy-dandy link: andthekitchensink
2. Total AO3 Word Count?
I’m almost embarrassed to tell. 947,443 words. How can there be almost 1 MILLION words on there?!?!?!?!
3. Top 5 Fics by Kudos (disclaimer: I loathe kudos. The hits go up, but the kudos stay at the same “Less than 10%” of hits, and even fewer people leave comments, so I’m left convinced nobody likes my stuff, or are being too polite to be mean in the comments)
Silent Treatment - Detroit: Become Human AU, in which Connor is a human, Selectively Non-Verbal, and there are no androids. Instead there’s a Nefarious Government Project having used children as lab rats. It’s basically a sci-fi thriller.
Great Pretenders - also DBH. Undercover as a Couple, Hankcon. Mutual pining, a convention dedicated to getting the most out of one’s relationship - what could possibly go wrong?
Tapestry of Time - Loki (TV) my first ever Lokius fic, full of Norse mythology. A fix-it fic set after the series finale.
Spa Day - five chapters of Hankcon smut. Gentle dom Connor, greedy sub Hank.
Metamorph - my first ever DBH fic, and also my first ever AO3 fic, uploaded back in 2018. Hankcon, set after the events of the game.
4. What fandoms do you write for?
I have written for FAKE, Yami no Matsuei, The Sentinel (TV), Star Trek: Deep Space 9, Metal Gear Solid, Harry Potter, Final Fantasy VIII, an anime style fighter game I can’t even remember the name of, Tin Man - but those aren’t on AO3. I’m not even sure I still have copies of them. Might have gotten lost in one of my computer crashes. This was before the days of cloud storage, people. Even going so far back as the days of ~dial up modems~. I also stopped writing fanfic altogether because I didn’t fit into fandom spaces, and some interactions with other fans made me think I couldn’t write for shit.
Be kind to your writers, folks. I didn’t write for ten years. Imagine the fics I could’ve written if I’d had more love from my fellow fans.
More recently, since I got my own AO3 account, I’ve written for Detroit: Become Human, Person of Interest, Loki (TV) and Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
5. Do you respond to comments?
I try to always respond to comments, but I have the memory of an empty fishbowl, and I work a fulltime job. So if I’m late to respond, it’s not because I don’t love your comment. It’s Life(™).
6. Angstiest Ending?
I don’t do angsty endings. I do angsty everything leading up to the end, which invariably ends on a happy note.
7. Fic with the Happiest Ending?
All of them, but I am particularly fond of the ending to A Promise Kept, my Lokius fairytale mashup set in the world of Baldur’s Gate 3.
8. Do you get hate?
So, that anime style fighting game I can’t remember the name of? The creator of Manly Guys Doing Manly Things once roasted my fic in the comments for being too stereotypical of the shounen ai genre - ie beefy boys crying, angst galore, so on. My sole claim to fandom fame, I guess. But no outright hate.
9. Do you write smut?
OH YEAH BABY
10. Do you write crossovers?
I want to, but I seldom come up with a neat way of meshing two fandoms and sets of characters together. A Promise Kept is my only finished project thus far. I do write AUs, though.
11. Ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge. Kids. Don’t steal people’s fics. Write your own.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated
Nope. I suppose I could translate one of my own into Swedish, but… I don’t see the point.
13. Have you ever cowritten a fic?
I co-rp’d 200 pages worth of historical romance fanfic with a dear friend once. That was fun.
14. All time favorite ship?
Why you wanna make me choose? Come on. I will say, though, I shipped Kirk/Spock even as a kid, because they were so obviously in wub with each other and I thought they made a cute couple. Ah, Star Trek reruns back in the eighties…
15. WIPs you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I have a Hankcon/Passengers (movie) AU that I’m not sure I’ll finish. But never say never. Inspiration might strike again!
16. Writing strengths?
I’ve been told I do dialogue well, and that I’m funny. IMHO I think I’m kinda good at plot twists, but I’ll let the reader be the judge of that.
17. Writing Weaknesses?
I am utterly self conscious of Telling too much, versus Showing too little. But I’m working on it.
18. Thoughts on mixed language dialogue?
I do it all the time, when appropriate to a character. Being bi-/multilingual myself, it’s always fun. I’m a language geek at heart.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
FAKE - the anime/manga about two cops in love.
20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?
Again with the choices, tut tut. However, I am REALLY fond of How to Create a Monster, in which Connor goes deep undercover to expose a drug kingpin preying on androids.

Our epic tale began on a cold, wintery eve. Under the dim light of a moon hidden by snowy clouds, the city transformed. Walls creaked and crumbled, rebuilt in an instant in new shapes; new forms. The modern metropolis was replaced with a realm crafted from sugary treats. Gingerbread walls, gumdrop roads, cinnamon stick trees, candy castles. For this was now a fantasy candy land: the realm of the Candy Witch.
"AWAKEN, WOULD-BE INVADERS!"
The witch's voice would boom, a thunderous sound with a tinge of familiarity to it. "You dare encroach upon my land? The Candy Witch's kingdom? Well then, I challenge you. Find me at the tippy top of my castle tower, but not before my trials are passed! Only then might you challenge me and, if you win, I may consider a way to send you home!"
In front of every non-NPC entity in the city a holographic paper appeared. A character sheet. "But the witch would not leave you without a means of accomplishing your tasks," Another voice spoke. It sounded similar to the witch's, but was much gentler. Almost as if there was a singular actor playing two different roles. "Will you take up a blade as the noble HEARTBREAKER? Perhaps you would prefer to cast the spells of the PASSION CASTER? Does the healing power of the LOVE DOCTOR tickle your fancy? Or does the path of the thieving HEART STEALER beckon to you? Fill out your character sheets and review the attached quest list, and let your journey begin!"
THE VOICE GOES SILENT
While the people of Spirale would hear nothing else for now, in a dark lab a young woman turned off her microphone. "I'm an android, I'm not supposed to be an actress..." Ofiuco rested her cheek gentle in front of her keyboard. "Oh well. I've always wanted to try LARPing, so why not give this a go? I think everyone could use something a little silly for a change, especially with Valentine's coming!"
═══════════════════════════════════
OVERVIEW
Welcome to our 33rd event, SUGAR QUEST IV: THAT MOMENTARY SWEETNESS! This event was inspired by a mix of old RPG games and silly mobile game events. So what's going on?
The people of the city are awoken to the sound of a familiar voice claiming to be the Candy Witch who issues you a challenge: pass her trials and find her at the top of the castle tower.
Everyone will fill out a quick character sheet that can be found on this page, which will determine your stats, class, and abilities!
The wards of the city have all been redesigned with a candy fantasy aesthetic, and you can find these changes listed in a section below. For the duration of the event you cannot access the branches.
Trials will be offered in the form of quests that can be chosen at your leisure. Participating in a quest is not mandatory for acquiring participation, but you will receive a flat 200 Stars for your character's account. You can only claim this 200 Stars once, so doing multiple quests will not net you more.
If you're just interested in event participation, any interaction will count regardless of whether it's in a quest or not! We'll also be offering Oficucotot, Bringer of Love as an exclusive event reward! She's a six inch, Ofiuco-shaped drone that follows after you and shoots tiny arrows at your foes. Not lethal, but very annoying! The item description reads: "Watch Your Eyes!".
YOU CAN FIND ALL OF THE INFORMATION ABOUT CLASSES, LOCATIONS, AND QUESTS HERE.
The event ends at 11:59:59PM on Friday, February 28th.
F.A.Q.
Will this event have a part 2? No! There is only one part to this event. There will be a raid battle during the last week of the event where everyone can face off against the Candy Witch, however.
Can we use our regular powers and weapons during this event? Unfortunately not! Your character has been stripped of their powers and had their physical abilities reduced to that of a normal human. You can only rely on the abilities and weapons provided by the class you choose and your character sheet stats! For non-humanoid characters, please reach out to the masterlist for accommodations!
Are the listed monsters the only ones in the setting? Nope! Those are just suggestions. You can design your own monsters to face, and even the ones listed alongside the locations are open to visual interpretation aside from the traits already listed.
Will my character undergo any visual changes during this event? Your selected class will grant you specific gear and weapons as part of that selection. Otherwise, nope! At least unless you disturb the fairies in the forest...
Are we required to use the quests for our threads? Nope! You can use them if you want the 200 Star reward, but it isn't mandatory to do a quest to get participation and the Ofiucotot, Bringer of Love. You can just do a different thread in the setting!

The Binding Vows pt. 12 Yandere Five Hargreeves x Reader
Part 11

Summary: The day of the wedding arrives, symbolizing Y/N's complete surrender to Five. The ceremony is lavish, yet suffocating, with the wedding dress representing a cruel mockery of innocence. Grace, the android caretaker, assists Y/N with a veiled sympathy, while Five enters with cold satisfaction. The ceremony progresses, and the vows exchanged reveal the depth of Five’s control over Y/N. His words cement his dominance, and despite Y/N's inner turmoil, they submit to the inevitable. The reception passes in a blur, filled with superficial celebrations, while Y/N remains detached. The night ends with Five expressing satisfaction, knowing Y/N has fully submitted. The wedding vows mark the final step in their complete obedience, solidifying the bleak reality of control and submission with no escape in sight.
Word Count: 411 words
**Content Warning:**
This story contains dark and potentially distressing themes, including obsessive behavior, violence, manipulation, and psychological distress. It portrays a relationship that is unhealthy and toxic, where one character exhibits controlling and possessive tendencies that lead to extreme actions.
If you are sensitive to these themes or find them triggering, please consider skipping this story.
Have Fun Reading!
The day of the wedding arrived, shrouded in an oppressive air of inevitability. The Hargreeves mansion had been transformed for the occasion, every surface adorned with lavish decorations that spoke of Five’s obsessive desire to make the event perfect. The grandeur of the setting only served to underscore the finality of the commitment you were about to make.
You stood in front of a full-length mirror in a room adorned with soft, muted tones. The wedding dress was a stark contrast to the drab reality of your life over the past months. It was elegant and intricate, a symbol of a celebration that felt more like a prison sentence. The white fabric clung to you, a symbol of innocence and purity that felt grotesquely out of place in the context of your submission.
Grace, the android caretaker, adjusted the veil over your face, her movements gentle and precise. Her usual warmth was replaced by a mechanical efficiency, as though even she understood the gravity of the situation. Her eyes, though robotic, seemed to reflect a hint of sympathy as she looked at you in the mirror.
“You look beautiful, Y/N,” Grace said softly, her voice carrying a note of genuine warmth. “I hope this day brings you the happiness you deserve.”
The words were almost unbearable to hear. The thought of happiness was a cruel mockery in your current situation. You forced a smile, your reflection showing a pale mask of composure.
“Thank you, Grace,” you replied, your voice barely above a whisper.
The sound of footsteps approaching drew your attention. Five entered the room, his expression a mask of cold satisfaction. He was impeccably dressed in a sharp suit, his demeanor as commanding and unyielding as ever. His gaze swept over you, taking in every detail with an approving nod.
“You’re ready,” he said simply, his tone brooking no argument.
You nodded, your heart pounding in your chest. The weight of the ring on your finger felt heavier than ever, a constant reminder of the submission that had led to this moment. Five extended his hand, and you took it with a trembling grasp.
The walk to the grand hall was a blur. The corridor was lined with flowers and ribbons, a stark contrast to the emptiness you felt inside. Five’s grip on your hand was firm, almost possessive, as he guided you toward the waiting guests.
The grand hall was filled with a mix of familiar faces and strangers. The Hargreeves siblings, who had been largely absent during the past weeks, were present now, their expressions a mix of curiosity and restrained disdain. They sat in the front rows, their gaze fixed on you and Five as you made your way to the altar.
The officiant, an imposing figure draped in ceremonial robes, stood at the front of the hall, waiting to begin the ceremony. Five led you to the altar, where he positioned you beside him with a sense of finality.
As the ceremony began, the officiant’s voice echoed through the hall, reciting vows and declarations that seemed to stretch endlessly. You stood there, your heart heavy with resignation, as Five’s hand remained firmly clasped around yours. The words of the officiant were a distant murmur, overshadowed by the weight of the moment.
Finally, the time came for the exchange of vows. Five’s gaze locked onto you with an intensity that made your stomach churn. His words were delivered with a cold, measured tone, each phrase a declaration of his complete ownership over you.
“Do you, Y/N, take me, Five Hargreeves, as your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?”
The question hung in the air, a stark reminder of the irrevocable commitment you were about to make. You swallowed hard, fighting the tears that threatened to spill. With a voice that trembled but was laced with a steely resolve, you answered.
“I do.”
The officiant nodded, a sign that the ceremony could proceed. Five’s eyes were filled with a dark satisfaction as he prepared to recite his own vows. His voice was steady and commanding, each word a testament to his control over you.
“I, Five Hargreeves, take you, Y/N, as my lawfully wedded wife, to own and to cherish, to possess and to control, from this day forward. You are mine in every way, and I will ensure that you remain so until the end of our days.”
The words were a declaration of dominance, a final affirmation of the control he had exerted over you. You stood there, your heart heavy with a mixture of fear and resignation, knowing that this moment marked the end of any hope for escape.
As the officiant pronounced you husband and wife, Five’s gaze softened slightly. He reached out, taking your face in his hands with a tenderness that felt almost out of place. He leaned in, pressing a kiss to your lips—a kiss that was both possessive and intimate.
The reception that followed was a blur of faces and voices, a cacophony of celebration that felt foreign and distant. You moved through the crowd with a sense of detachment, each smile and congratulations a reminder of the price you had paid for this moment.
Five remained close by, his hand resting possessively on your back as he guided you through the reception. His touch was a constant reminder of his control, a symbol of the commitment you had made. The evening stretched on, a never-ending cycle of celebration and superficial pleasantries.
“You’ve done well,” he said softly, his voice carrying a note of approval. “You’ve proven your submission, and now we can move forward.”
His words were a chilling reminder of the finality of your situation. You had surrendered completely, and there was no turning back. The commitment you had made was irrevocable, a binding contract that sealed your fate forever.
You had reached the point of no return, and the future that lay ahead was one of complete and utter submission. The person you had once been was gone, replaced by a reality of control and obedience.
The wedding had marked the end of any hope for escape. The vows had been exchanged, the commitment sealed, and the future stretched out before you, a path of unending submission and control.
You understood the full weight of the commitment you had made. The final act of your surrender had been completed, and there was no going back.

Ducktales Crew in spacesuits in space on the Moon - Ducktales kids, teenagers and adults on the Moon - Happy Moon Landing and Happy Independence Day of the USA - Gift for my friend - Ducktales in Space (Ducktales AU) - Tribute to Ducktales 2017 - Second part
Although I already drew Ducktales characters in spacesuits on the moon last year, still because of Landing Moon Day which is held on July 20th every year and this year is the 55th anniversary of human walking on the moon, I drew somehow a similar drawing, in my own way, in my own style where the Ducktales characters are on the moon in spacesuits.
Astronauts Neil Armstrong, Edwin Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins who led the Apollo 11 crew in the Saturn V rocket from July 16 to July 24, 1969, with July 20 and 21 being Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walked on the moon and were the first people to walk on the moon and brought great pride to the USA and to all mankind. July 20 and 21, 1969 were the significant dates when people were on the moon for the first time. And those are the days of Moon Landing. After the crew of Apollo 11, the crew members of Apollo 12-17 will go and walk on the moon, until 1972, except for Apollo 13. Unfortunately, after more than 50 years, people reportedly did not go to the moon due to numerous problems with the construction of further rockets, but lately there is a race to the moon again, so maybe in the near future people will go to the moon again, unless they are faking it. Space travel is back in fashion. And 55 years have passed since the first walk on the moon.
You can see a similar previous drawing here: https://ducktoonsfanart.tumblr.com/post/732385519766487040/ducktales-crew-in-spacesuits-on-the-moon-in-space
I didn’t manage to draw Ducktales characters from head to toe in spacesuits, but certainly the special way I imagine Ducktales 2017 is that they wear spacesuits like Sandy Cheeks from Sponge Bob, I just reshaped it in my own way and these suits can be used and for traveling under water, in volcanic regions and protection against pandemics. Yes, they wear bubble helmets, which are actually glass-proof. This time is the second part of Ducktales 2017 characters with family members and their friends, since not everyone could fit in the previous drawing. Anyway, check out the previous drawing from Ducktales 2017 crew in spacesuits on the Moon part one: https://ducktoonsfanart.tumblr.com/post/756620890157056000/ducktales-crew-in-spacesuits-in-space-on-the-moon
Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera and Gandra Dee drive the moon rover (I love how Fenton and Gandra are together so I drew them sticking together), Scrooge McDuck in his vintage spacesuit holds moon ore filled with diamonds and gold found on the moon, and Violet holds a banner along with Daisy's nieces April, May and June Duck and mostly writes this: "We are the first ducklings on The Moon. One small step for ducklings, one big step for ducks!" If you understand this sentence. ;) What Neil Armstrong said when he walked on the moon on July 20, 1969. And that Louie Duck took photos with his android mobile phone (see previous drawing) of these characters to mark the new event and the big anniversary of 55 years ago. And Gyro keeps an Oxy-Chew just in case he runs out of oxygen in his space suit. As for Daisy's nieces as I imagine them in Ducktales 2017, see here: https://ducktoonsfanart.tumblr.com/post/743089775258615808/april-may-and-june-duck-as-teenagers-quack-pack
And that's how I imagine these characters in my version of Ducktales 2017 (Ducktales AU) and in my version of the Quack Pack reboot if it was a sequel to Ducktales 2017. Yes, Boyd is holding the US flag since it's also Independence Day which is celebrated in the US every 4th of July. , and the Americans were the first on the moon, allegedly. While the others wear symbols of the USA, Gladstone wears the flag of Ireland on his space suit, because after all Ireland represents the country of lucky. ;) This drawing features Violet Sabrewing, April, May and June Duck, Boyd Gearloose (Boyd Beaks), Kabooie Duck (5th Donald's nephew wearing a brown space suit and how I imagine him in DT17), Scrooge McDuck, Gladstone Gander, Fethry Duck, Drake Mallard, Launchpad McQuack, Bentina Beakley and Gyro Gearloose.
I hope you like this drawing and this idea and feel free to like and reblog this, just don’t use these same ideas of mine without mentioning me. Thank you! Also this is dedicated to my friend @ducksinspaceadventure, who organized Moon Landing Day. Happy Independence Day everyone and Happy Moon Landing Day! And the 55th anniversary of walking on the Moon!

Bonjour everyone
So, I am here today to yap about ZZZ because Y E S
I made two tier lists and I shall comment on them because why not
This post will be for the first tier list, which is regarding playstyle, while the other post will be for companion quests. So let's get to it!
So, you could say I like fast playstyles but then BOOM, Anton (he doesn't have a fast playstyle per say, but it is very fun still). So, let's tacke each tier
Fun playstyle, feels great and satisfying to play
For this tier, we have:
→ Billy - fast playstyle leaning playstyle with certain gimmicks that I find super fun. His signature W-Engine, in my opinion, enhances his playstyle by incentivating the player to do his beyblade dash attack more often (the Engine's passive buffs attack for 10 seconds after doing a dash or basic attack). His skill does a HUGE ammount of damage and, when put in a team he has resonance with, using his skill before the burst will buff the burst's damage (and if you burst AFTER a chain attack, the burst ALSO gets buffed!). So, in general, really fun to play! Love dodging with him by just... Pressing a movement key while he's in his crouched state (yes you can do that), it makes me feel like a pro (it fails 90% of the time). Fun fact! Billy is one of the fastest running units in the game after Lycaon and Ellen I believe! So ye, love my lil' android man, he's amazing
→ Ellen - Another one with a fast leaning playstyle!(Did you notice I have a preferred gameplay type?) But her playstyle is SUPER fun, albeit I'm still fetching her gimmick. The fact that you should dodge, continue sprinting, and THEN attack instead of doing a normal dodge counter is a bit tricky, but as you play her more, you manage to get used to it. Ellen's playstyle is very forward imo, which isn't a bad thing at all. Enter stalk mode, hold attack to charge the scissors, let go, get basic attack stacks, basic attack, repeat. While I don't have her signature (didn't have enough time to fetch it, augh) the Engine I use, starlight knight, is very good, since it buffs dash attacks and basic attacks as well (made for her and Billy eh?). I also love her burst animation and I usually play her with Lucy and Soukaku for big pp damage. Highly recommend getting her on her rerun if you missed her on her banner!
→ Anton - BABYGIRL I LOVE YOUU! Anyways, his playstyle was VERY confusing at first, but you get the hang of it rather easily. His main souce of damage comes from his burst mode (not actual burst, but skill activation). Once in that mode, he will do constant electric damage, but you need to pay attention to his energy meter because, once it reaches zero, you're back to dealing physical damage. While off field, with his resonance passive activated, Anton will regain energy. Other ways to regain energy WHILE in burst mode is to assist with him. As soon as you hear the attack noise + see the glow, press space and his assist counter will refill part of his energy meter! His actual burst is also SUPER satisfying to use, doing big damage in an aoe. I was using the summer event weapon on him before getting his signature and GYATT he was doing some VERY good damage (he's not even properly built as of rn). Tldr, Anton, while having a playstyle that requires a bit of time to do damage, is very rewarding when the big pp damage mode is on.
→ Qingyi - Soldier 11 I hate you for making me lose my 50/50 to you... QINGYI IS SO FUN TO PLAY! Genuinely speaking, her playstyle is SO fun, love me some stun units (I don't have any stun units that I use, sorry Anby). Qignyi also has a fast and to the point playstyle. Just keep pressing basic attack until she enters tazer mode and then hold the button once the little gold bar beneath her energy is gold. Big pp dmg and the stun is great. I love her dodge counters too (I have only played her on quests and trials, but gosh I love playing with her). In general, there's nothing much I have to say about her playstyle, it's direct and rather simple. Just zap ppl, fill up gold bar, hold attack button, do damage. Great playstyle, I will get her on her rerun.
→ Caesar - FUN SHIELDER LET'S GOOOO. Fast playstyle on the basic attacks but that is not her purpose (you could absolutely play her as a dps tho). Her shield build off of her impact, which I found very interesting and fun! To play her, you just counter an incoming attack with her skill (shield) and press it again. Bam, shield is on, time to swap out! However, I recommend you keep her on field a bit longer and do a held attack before leaving. Why? Well, her held attack, the spinning shields, gather small-medium enemies into a horde, making it easier to attack them in one go! She's great in teams that have characters that can do aoe dmg, so I highly recommend her for literally ANY team that has a physical or sons of callydon character (such as Piper, Lucy, Corin, Jane or even Billy). One negative point tho, there are no A rank or B rank Defence W-Engines with an Impact substat, the only one is her signature. So, if you want the W-Engine buff, I highly recommend getting her signature, unless ZZZ plans on launching another A rank defence engine with impact substat (which I find unlikely).
→ Piper - *signs the entirety of the beyblade opening*. But yeah, that's her gameplay, LMAO. Albeit being ok the slower playstyle side, she is still very fun to play. You can spam her basic attack and use the section in which she jumps to avoid enemy attacks or ya can just, y'know, dodge them. Since she's an anomaly character, her dmg lies in anomaly buildups and procs. Do three of her basic attacks and press her skill (when glowing) and she will enter her fast spinning mode faster, acquiring stacks. Those stacks, when her resonance passive is on, buff her and her teammates' anomaly dmg when doing the physical anomaly reactions. She's great for solos (I solo'd the Dead End Butcher on Hollow Zero with her but hey, it's Hollow Zero lol) and just fun to play in general. Love spinning with her and hearing the SHING sound when she procs and Assault reaction.
→ Grace - ELECTRIC GRENADEEEE. Also fast style gameplay, just normal attack with her, wait for her bombs to charge up beneath her energy meter, wait for glowing skill, BAM. Swap her out for your electric dps. That's her playstyle frfr, just NA, skill, leave. Albeit being having a rather... Short time on screen, she does HUGE damage with her skill due to being an anomaly character (the ammount of times she got the MVP because of her shock procks are not listed). She's a great Electric character support and is just fun to play in general. Just be aware that she has a rather smoll ammount of hp, she's very frail.
→ Jane - normal attack, charge passion, held to spinn. Essentially piper but normal attack instead of skill. Her Assault procks are great and her dmg is just, MWACK, phenomenal. Fast playstyle with very smooth moves that make even FIGHTING against her difficult. The enemies are legit just... Tanking a thousand blades. Again, albeit being straight to the point, the fact of how fast you hit enemies and the shing sound of the anomaly procks are just prefection, love it, very satisfying to just put the enemies in the Jane blender (she fr blends them up with how fast she attacking, we gonna have enemy smoothie at this point).
Good playstyle, also fun to play
→ Burnice - she also has a very fast paced playstyle but I don't feel the vibes to put her on the tier above. Love that she pirouettes with her flamethrowers and that, to charge her basic attacks (there's a meter beneath her energy meter) you have to press the skill to just burn the enemies with her flamethrowers. Very straightforwards, very fun to play, just doesn't scratch the funky itch for me, but her playstyle is great! Pair her with Caesar and you'll have a great time burning everything to the ground.
→ Nekomata - SHING SHING SHINNG. Fast kitty has the zoomies and she is going to turn you into sashimi. Again, only played her on her quest and on the trials, but her playstyle, while being fast, doesn't hit as much as the others. Love how fast she goes, love how she just slides on the floor while slashing the enemy's kneecaps, but it just doesn't scratch the itch as much as the others... Very good and fun still tho!
→ Rina - press her skill and leave the field. That's it, that's her gameplay. She's mainly here because of how fluid her moves are and how good it feels to use her on the few moments she's on field. Her purpose is solely to buff pierce, but she still manages to have a fun and fluid playstyle while fitting that role perfectly. Wife, please come home, your W-Engine is waiting...
→ Lycaon - while he has fast attacks, that's not how you're supposed to play him. It's a bit tricky and I was considering lowering him a bit, but he's fun still so he stays here. The deal with his playstyle is that you have to hold the attack button so that Lycaon can do ice damage, otherwise is just physical, so keeping the ice combo is a bit complicated (skill issue on my end mb). Still, while being a bit slower due to that little gimmick, he still mantains his fun factor.
→ Lucy - HIT EM WITH THE BAT, GURL. But yeah, her gameplay is also very to the point, wait for her skill to start glowing, hold it, swap out and enjoy the attack buff. You can also build her with crit, since once her resonance passive is active, her little boars will inherit her crit ratio, doing damage alongside your on field dps. So I'd say is worth it to try and build her with a bit of crit, just for her boars' sake. I find it rlly funny that she just... Hits her children boars with the bat, and the hit is SO STRONG that they come back down like a fiery comet. Lucy, hun, pls take better care of your babies-
→ Koleda - NYOOOOOOOOMMMM. GIRLY IS FAST! But like, where the fire dmg at-. Love the weapons, love her hits, love her speed but... She's just a physical character with some fire stuff. I came to that realization while playing with her on a trial on the new event thingy we have at the HIA headquarters. She attacks rlly fast, but 90% of those attacks deal phys dmg instead of fire, with her only fire dmg hits being the end of her basic combo, skill and burst. She's still fun, but the lack of fire saddens me a bit.
→ Corin - smoll delicate gurl with beeg chainsaw, love her. Her playstyle is a bit on the slower side and she thrives in dealing repeated damage due to her chainsaw. Majority of her damage comes from her skill, where she keeps the steadiest grip I've ever seen on her weapon as she walks, hitting whatever the fuck is in her way. While it's fun, yes, it's also a bit... Boring at times, I think? Idk, I loved playing her at the beginning, with her hitting bitches around with her chainsaw, but nowadays, since I don't play her much, whenever I use a trial her I'm like "I mean... It's fun, but she only has like, one attack variation and her dodge attack is kinda... Meh" idk why, but she's still fun
→ Soldier 11 - I hate you, I hate you so much, you have no flavor but... Your playstyle is actually a bit fun. Her fire damage is WAAAY more present and, even tho I don't play her (I refuse to) the few times I had to I had a surprising amount of fun. Like, yes, she's almost a carbon copy of Anby, but she's a faster fire version of Anby, which makes her a bit more satisfying to play in my books (I'm so sorry Anby)
A slightly clunky but still solid playstyle
→ Soukaku - yes, I know she's a support, but her skill is a bit clunky to use imo. You have to use it three times in order to get the max buff she can provide, yet her skill activation time is so slow and leaves her vulnerable to enemy attacks. While yes, she has INSANE interruption res while using her skill, the vulnerability while releasing her ice circles (when she waves her weapon like a tennis racket) is very annoying to me. Like, should I give her more hp? Probably. Will I? No, she gets the attack, deal with it.
→ Nicole - same thing as Soukaku. Her skill is great, love the suck and the aoe, but why is it SO SLOW TO CHARGEEEE. GIRLY POP, YOU'RE VULNERABLE TO THE ENEMY DAMAGE, CHARGE THAT GUN BAG FASTER! As you can see, I don't like slower playstyle characters, it takes a LOT for me to like them. But besides her skill, her playstyle is ok. Don't use her so often besides trials and when the game forces me, but yeah, I'm not rlly... A fan of her playstyle (love her character tho)
Playstyle is clunky
→ Ben - he is, quite literally, the SLOWEST character in the game. His attack animations are great but... I just don't like his playstyle. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Ben as a character, but his playstyle just... Rlly doesn't hit home for me. Yeah, his skill is fun, but I keep forgetting to press it twice instead of only once.
→ Anby - girl... Girl I'm so not counting how many attacks you did to do your electric charged. Like, "once she's done four attacks, hold the attack button to-" BITCH YOU THINK I COUNT? Like, I understand if you love Anby, me too! I love her character! But... Why, why do I have to count to properly use her... My brain needs stimuly, not mathematics 😭 I'm so sorry Anby
→ Zhu Yuan - why are you so clunky. I rlly just don't like her playstyle, it feels so... Clunky and choppy and NOT FUN to me. I completely understand if you like her playstyle, that's great, but I just rlly can't bring myself to enjoy it. When I tested her I already felt soooo icky, she felt so choppy and rigid to play like, why... I know she's a cop and her moves are precise, but Qignyi, who's also a cop, plays smoother than her imo
Playstyle feels stiff and non enjoyable
→ Seth - Seth... Seth my love... I am so sorry... I rly don't like his playstyle. His dash attack? Confusing. His skill? Takes SO LONG to charge and also leaves him vulnerable to damage. And his normal attacks are like... Ok-ish? But he feels so stiff and clunky and I just can't enjoy myself while playing him... I'm so sorry Seth, but your playstyle, in my humble opinion, is shit. Not for me, 0/10, please never force me to use you again.

-- ☆ -- ☆ -- ☆ --
WEDNESDAY, 10th of November 2038, 11:02 AM
In the first twelve hours of his deviancy, the RK800 mainly observed one thing.
Feeling emotions was a lot harder than suppressing them.
Some emotions were easier than others. Like confidence - confidence did not come hard to the RK800.
Chasing through Jerichos’ many hallways, fighting and dodging FBI agents left and right, he realised quickly that no one - not humans, nor other androids - could keep up with him.
This observation was quickly followed by another: arrogance also came easy to him.
He figured he would have to keep an eye on that - you probably wouldn’t enjoy his presence if he acted too arrogantly.
Ah.
You.
That was another series of observations: the mysterious New York Detective with the redacted CyberLife file.
If you hadn’t made such a scene about him looking into your files way back when - on that car ride to Kamski’s place - he probably never would’ve thought about investigating. But when you did, his curiosity was piqued.
And once he looked, he could no longer look away.
From your time in the police academy onwards, everything looked normal.
But before that?
Your early biography was short - born in New York, raised in New York. Single mother, absent father, one little brother. Then - a long gap. Next in the list: acceptance into the police academy without ever taking an admittance test - no trace of why, no trace of how.
Digging deeper, he found mentions of you in obscure places that made no sense - first place in a mathematics competition in Detroit University for instance, or as a member of the court hearings on the dangers of android assisted driving.
He had assured himself that his interest was merely rational, a natural outgrowth of his investigative abilities.
Now that he could feel his emotions fully and without restriction, he was no longer so sure.
So now here he stood, in front of your apartment, with nowhere to go but inside.
Except you were not answering the door.
You could have been asleep but it was almost noon and that seemed unlike you; not to mention his repeated ringing of your doorbell would surely have awoken you and alerted you to his presence.
You could be ignoring him - he did start a fight the last time he saw you. That, too, seemed unlike you: your heartbeat increased when he entered a room, you had made a habit of smiling at him and your conversations with him were 21% longer than your average conversations with other colleagues - these were all indicators that you did not detest his presence.
This observation caused another feeling: it bubbled in his stomach and warmed his body in a way he firmly classified as positive. He would have to find time to sit down and invent an organisational system for all these new emotions: a mix of a key-value store and a binary search tree perhaps. There had to be a way to bring some rationality into all this.
But that would have to wait.
For now, he had to go inside and you were not answering your door.
There was, of course, always the option of breaking and entering. His preconstruction module helpfully built a path into your apartment and lit up his HUD with step by step instructions. It also added the 82% chance of you disapproving of his actions.
He swiped the path away and rang your doorbell again.
No answer.
His preconstruction module refused to give up, sending him a choice of three ways into your apartment, ranked by damage to the apartment in height of repair costs.
When he tried to swipe it away again, the module got mad and woke up the reconstruction module with a poke, asking it for reasons why you might not be answering the door.
The reconstruction module ranked its response list by severity.
Starting with you dead on the floor.
Connor’s first impulse was to angrily shoot his own reconstruction module for suggesting such a thing, but that did not have a high expected utility.
Besides, shooting software is tricky.
He swiped both of them away and shifted his focus back to getting into your apartment.
The RK800 had only just received free will and he was not quite sure what exactly that meant yet. Would he have to stop listening to his software modules entirely? He didn’t want to do that; so far, every decision in his life had been made based on expected utility and weighted priority matrices - it seemed reasonable to continue doing so.
But would that be him making the decisions, or some CyberLife software engineer?
He didn’t know.
The RK800 stared at your door.
The old Connor would have broken into your apartment already and the new Connor knew that full well. Perhaps that was why he refused to listen to his preconstruction module, choosing to stand here instead.
He rang the doorbell.
No response.
Then again, the old Connor would have had no reason to want to get into your apartment in the first place, so maybe there was no harm in the new Connor’s breaking and entering?
As if on cue, the preconstruction module piped up again, this time ranking the paths by covertness.
Was there even a way to meaningfully separate the old Connor from the new Connor? Where did one end and the other begin?
And what even was the difference between acting exactly as your software dictates and acting exactly opposed? Didn’t both methods dictate his life instead of letting him choose?
Your face crossed his mind again. Wow, Connor, you crossed the street on a red light even though your software warned you not to and got hit by a car! That really showed CyberLife, don’t you think?
The words weren’t yours, but they might as well have been. And you had a point.
Still, he tried swiping the paths away and ringing your doorbell one last time.
When the preconstruction module popped up again - ranking by efficiency in saving your life should you currently be bleeding out in your bathroom? - the RK800 didn’t need any further convincing. He selected the first path.
-
Half your boxes were open, analysed and catalogued by the time Connor realised that you might take issue with his intrusiveness. When he had finally made his way inside and found your apartment empty, figuring out where you went had seemed the logical next step.
He may have gotten distracted midway.
Other than the fact that you left in a hurry shortly after he did, he didn’t find out much about your current whereabouts - but, oh how the rest of your things fascinated him.
He threw open box after box, most of them filled with unbuilt Swedish furniture, only slowing down to analyse boxes filled with personal belongings.
Some might argue that a lot of your personal belongings were rather boring, but to Connor every bit of information was priceless.
He had rapidly built a comprehensive list of your preferences in clothing and in home decor, a less comprehensive list of your social circle based on foreign DNA traces and quickly realised that you did not own a single piece of CyberLife technology.
For a short while the RK800 felt personally attacked by this trend in purchasing history, then realised that he no longer liked CyberLife and should probably feel glad you didn’t like them either. This confused the RK800 and he ended up deciding that while he did not like CyberLife, he wanted to show you the many upsides of owning a CyberLife product.
Then he realised he should probably stop thinking of himself as a product and of your relationship as ownership, which only served to stress him out even further. He was a deviant now, shouldn’t it come easy to him to consider himself a person? It never looked this difficult when the other deviants did it.
He went to distract himself by opening a few more boxes, then stopped himself, remembering why he had interrupted the activity in the first place.
Connor glanced across the room, where countless boxes lay opened, your stuff strewn across the living room. Right. You would probably disapprove.
A pang of an emotion he categorised as guilt made its way across his body before burrowing above his pump regulator, so intensely and so negatively he expected malfunction warnings to pop up on his HUD. It knocked him off his feet, forcing him to sit on the floor. Panicked, the RK800 started emergency diagnostics, but the feeling did not grant him the relief of an easy explanation.
0 mechanical failures, 0 software exceptions found. All systems at full functionality.
Yet, here he was, sitting on your floor, feeling smaller than ever before in his life and yet too big for his body at the same time.
The feeling flooded his every circuit, telling him to run and hide, awakening memories of failure and punishment which it quickly drowned again.
Artificial intelligences are not born and raised, they are built and trained; and the RK800 is the best trained bot in the pack. The feeling was not unlike making a mistake in training - a memory that had been purged from the RK800’s memory, yet flowed through every decision he made. It was how he came into this world: pure positivity as a reward for good behaviour, pure negativity for every wrong choice, every misstep, every miscalculation in priorities.
Except being punished for mistakes had never felt personal.
How did anyone deal with this?
This is ridiculous.
Shaking his head, Connor tried to get back on his feet. He pushed himself up with one arm and lifted his center of gravity with his legs at the same time; but his gyroscopes fired misleading values and his left leg overcorrected while his right knee tried to dodge and before he knew it he was on the ground again.
The feeling had gotten stronger now, seeping from his chest to his limbs, like somebody filled his wired veins with ice cold water instead of blue blood. Connor felt his thirium pump pick up speed and his fingers and toes go numb despite all sensors reporting full functionality.
What had been guilt had turned into boundless shame and Connor felt every component in his body cringe away from him in turmoil.
The world had gotten smaller, too; he could have sworn his field of view used to be bigger.
And colours? Didn’t colours use to be a thing?
And sounds?
All he could hear now was a fast rhythmic thumping in a cold black and white world.
The RK800 wasn’t sure how he had gotten into this situation anymore.
The RK800 wasn’t sure where he was.
Had he been worried about something?
Yes, worry, that sounded right.
He should be worried about several things, but what were they again?
Red filled his HUD. “Stress level at 96.01%. Self-destruction imminent.”
Was that one of the things he should be worried about?
The RK800 wasn’t sure anymore. Nor did he care.
A gleeful smile twisted his lips as his blurry gaze wandered across the room he was in.
Worry was so overrated.
He felt the artificial muscles in his body tense as if they were planning something in secret, he felt his thirium pump thump away at speeds that could power a car, and he felt as his hands began shaking - but his mind? His mind was numb. Numb and safe.
The RK800 would have laughed if he had had any control over his body, but as it was, all he could master was a stupid grin.
His HUD was still throwing funny words at him, words lacking meaning and intensity. Words like “Stress Level at 98.56%” and “Preparing for self-destruction”.
The RK800 attempted to swipe them away, but they refused to obey his commands, increasing in size like they were begging for his attention. Like a defiant child refusing to listen, the RK800 looked away instead.
Huh. He was in a bare living room that looked like a bomb had exploded in it. No furniture to be seen, but opened boxes and personal belongings were strewn across the room carelessly.
There had been something important about what had happened here, but the RK800 was not sure what it was.
He had to find out. Finding things out was his function, was it not?
To his left laid a box of clothing. A lot of it was very practical - neutral colours, mostly dark shades, and cuts that were easy to move around in. They reminded Connor of something out of a movie, clothing an undercover agent would wear on a secret mission. Had he ever seen a movie before? He wasn’t sure. He would have to put that on his encrypted list, right below “listen to heavy metal” and the crossed off “pet a dog”.
Hold on. He had a list? And it was secret? Who was it secret from?
Not all of the clothing followed this rule. Some of the older, worn out pieces were in bold colours and featured funny prints - unlike anything a secret agent would be allowed to wear. Or a police officer?
Connor could have sworn that description matched something or someone in his internal database, but his body was running hot and hard drive access times were slow.
He leant forward slowly, extending his arms to prop himself up and exhaled deeply. Hot, and almost steamy, air left his body.
Tearing his gaze from the box of clothes, he continued to look across the room. Books laid in piles in one corner of the room, some the old kind with pages and some new and digital. Most of them were fiction - superhero sci-fi stories where perfect heroes saved doomed worlds - but a few non-fiction works peeked through the bunch as well.
“Advanced Algebra: Volume II” read one title. “Dealing with Grief” read another.
Dealing with grief? Was this Hank’s home perhaps?
No, impossible. The old Lieutenant had a dog, a beautiful big Bernese mountain dog named Sumo, and this home had decidedly too few dog hairs to be Hank’s.
Hank! Hank was an important person, right?
But if he wasn’t at Hank’s, where was he?
Connor turned carefully, testing his body’s limits. His heart was still trying to escape his chest and a dangerous crimson lined his field of view.
His gaze locked on a framed picture that sat atop the box he had been leaning against.
The photograph showed four people standing arm in arm, all grinning from ear to ear.
Connor tried to look away, but something inside him stopped him. He didn’t recognise the two women to the left or the young boy to the right of the picture, but the person in the middle was important somehow.
Their database entry in his internal system was too large for his overheated body to load, but something about their smile was relevant.
They were smiling and that was good.
You were smiling and that was good.
Fragments of laughter loaded into his consciousness, a silly joke he had not understood.
An arm on his shoulder, physical contact he had struggled to contextualise.
A warm and soft feeling. Safety, coupled with worry.
You were fragile and he had to protect you.
You were safety and he would be okay.
A pop up awoke Connor from his daze.
“Stress level at 84.56% and sinking. Internal system temperature sinking. Reestablishing functionality. Self-destruct aborted.”
With a start, Connor remembered where he was and what had happened. He looked around the room, grounding himself further as his essential processes finished their reboot. Memories flooded his mind and his fingers prickled as sensation returned.
It was hard to stop himself from jumping up the second his awareness returned, but Connor paced himself, scared of falling over again.
When his HUD informed him that the reboot was complete he carefully pushed himself up. Though he expected to lose balance any moment, he managed to pull himself up on his feet and stabilise himself into a secure stand.
Taking a deep breath, he looked around the room.
What exactly was that?
-
The RK800 worked best when he moved and so he subconsciously started putting your things back into their respective boxes while he mulled over what just happened. When everything was - more or less - back in its place, he still hadn’t come to a conclusion.
If he was a human, he’d have diagnosed himself with a panic attack. But he wasn’t a human. And androids didn’t have panic attacks.
He stood in the middle of your living room, pulling the memory of his arrival up on his HUD and overlaying it over his current view, comparing the two.
Having had a panic attack would also be deeply inconvenient to the RK800 - he wanted to help the deviants in their rebellion, and his efficiency as an agent greatly reduced when factoring in a past panic attack.
He corrected one box’s position by two centimetres to the right.
So clearly, it can’t have been a panic attack.
A hoodie still laid sprawled across two boxes in your entryway and a quick comparison confirmed that it had been folded when the RK800 came in.
So, what to do with the memory of the not-panic-attack? Filing it away under “look later” might be an option, but so was deletion. And deletion might be more efficient in the long run - it was the best way to ensure no more resources would get wasted on this fluke of an event.
The RK800’s fingers fluttered across the hoodie, folding it and making sure to position it the exact same way as it was in his memories - down to the millimetre. The RK800 took pride in being an exact machine.
Yes, deletion would probably be the best option. He accessed his logs and the associated memory file, going through it entry by entry starting with the first pang of guilt. But when he came across finding that picture of you, he hesitated. A soft fondness warmed his body and he couldn’t help but smile when he thought about it. Was deleting that really necessary?
The RK800 threw a testing look into the kitchen, though he was fairly sure his exploration hadn’t driven him that far.
No, he decided. Deleting that part wasn’t necessary. Memories associated with you were precious and few, and he wanted to keep the feeling of safety you caused him as close as possible.
“Log removal complete.”
Mission accomplished. Your living space looked just as it had when he first entered, down to the door that the android had left ajar when he broke in.
Hold on. He left the door ajar?
Connor quickly checked his recording again to find that he had indeed left the door wide open this entire time.
He went to correct his mistake, but hesitated before closing it fully. What if this was the kind of door that locked when closing it? He’d have to break out again. Maybe leaving it open was a better idea?
Or maybe you had an extra set of keys laying around that he hadn’t found yet?
Turning back around towards the apartment, half inside and half out, he scanned the room for a second pair of keys.
Before he finished the scan, he heard keys clatter on the floor behind him.
“Connor!” a voice asked, shock coursing through every syllable.
He began turning around towards the hallway outside, more than ready to fight to the death, but his voice recognition returned a match before he had time to finish turning around.
It was you.
Luckily for you, the match came before he had time to draw back his fist for a blow and a grin spread across his face instead.
When he saw your face the grin disappeared as quickly as it had appeared.
Your eyes were red and puffy like you had spent the last several hours crying. All colour had drained from your face like you had seen a ghost. Your under eyes had deep dark circles like you hadn’t slept in days and you were supporting your dominant arm, which had a deep gash across the biceps.
“You’re alive?” you asked, your voice hoarse.
The RK800 frowned. Why wouldn’t he be alive?

What are some of the weirdest stories/books/movies etc you've encountered in your Arthuriana journey? Whatever weird might mean to you (good/bad/unsettling/unexpected/surreal/goofy)
Hi anon!
This is honestly a tough thing to answer because what even constitutes a weird Arthurian retelling? They're all pretty weird haha! But I definitely have a few that come to mind
The French film Perceval (1978) is super weird in a great way! It's shot on a stage with painted backgrounds and metallic trees and structures for the set. Real horses are brought on. A troupe of bards provide diegetic music, playing instruments and singing a narration of events on screen while also acting as characters in their own right (such as the jester Kay throws into the fire). Perceval and Gauvain narrate their own stories in third person at times too. It's surreal! It's as if Perceval's world is "fake," since his mother has kept him isolated for so long, it's a distorted view of reality. This is the closest adaptation of Chrétien de Troyes's Story of the Grail I can think of, it's nearly word-for-word, BUT! They removed the racism and antisemitism. Two thumbs up! The ending is bananas. There's no describing it, you just have to watch. You can download this movie from my MEGA drive or it can be watched for free on Tubi! (Content warning for nudity and some gore.)
The film Unidentified Flying Oddball (1979) is my favorite adaptation of Mark Twain's A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court. The main character Tom works for NASA developing an android named Hermes. Through a comedy of errors, both Tom and Hermes end up launched into space at the speed of light, traveling through time, and crash land in Camelot, 508AD. Mordred mistakes Tom for a monster (due to his space suit and orb-shaped helmet) but Tom quickly wins Arthur's trust and allowed to hang out. He meets Sandy, a girl who thinks her dad has been transformed into a goose, and together with her and a page named Clarance, works to return home. It's exceedingly silly. I much prefer the character Tom (and Hermes, who is identical in appearance to Tom and jousts for him) to Sir Boss in the Connecticut Yankee film from 1949 with Bing Crosby. Tom's gun is funnier than the original as it's more like a science-fiction laser that blows things up. He also has a magnet ray he uses to draw armored knights where he wants. Not a good film, but goofy and fun. You can download this movie from my MEGA drive! (No content warnings, it's a family movie!)
The film Excalibur (1981) obviously has to make this list. Coincidentally, it's mostly for Percival again. The Grail Quest segment accounts for just 20 minutes of the entire film, but it feels like eons. And it's So Weird. It's safe to call it horror. Percival meets struggle after struggle, encountering many dead comrades along the way, raving mad townspeople struggling to survive, Morgan and Mordred attempting to steer him wrong. He's eventually hung from a tree and has a vision of God's voice. (Hallucination or real?) The dead knight dangling above him sways and his spurs cut Percival free. From there he runs into Uriens and holds him as he dies, struck down by miscreant knights. Percival eventually achieves the grail, obviously, but it's not until he's pushed the absolute limits. It's probably one of my favorite sequences in film ever. 11/10. You can download this from my MEGA drive! (Content warning for nudity, rape, gore, and incest.)
As for books, I recommend The Modern Arthur Trilogy by Peter David. The first one is Arthur running for mayor of NYC, the second one is President of the United States, and the third one he sort of becomes a god. It's wild. Other characters include Guinevere, Lancelot, Morgan le Fay, Mordred, Percival, Merlin, and of course the Lake of the Lake. The sequels randomly add Gilgamesh and Enkidu (and later Noah, like the guy with an ark in the Bible??) and it's all very strange indeed. The first book is definitely the best but Gilgamesh/Enkidu were pretty freaky (affectionate) so I did enjoy that, although the whole premise of book two is...meh. I listened to the graphic audio books which were awesome, the sound effect of Arthur falling down the subway stairs in full armor is worth every penny. (Content warning for incest, murder, cannibalism, racism, and terrorism)
